Members of the University of Montana Western Foundation Board:

With the holiday season upon us, 2007 is coming to a close. Perhaps this is an appropriate time for us to recognize a number of significant gestures of support to Montana Western.

Chancellor Storey has proven to be an energetic promoter of Montana Western programs. The chancellor has sought and received support to assist with our efforts in equine studies (continuing the remodel of a Foundation-owned building to become the Academic Center for Equine Studies), “Dances with Words” (a popular series hosted by our English faculty and visiting writers), and the Learning Academic Center for Excellence (LACE) offering tutoring and educational assistance for our students. Special thanks to William Kriegel, Ron and Charlene Loge, Swede Troedsson, Shafi Shafaieh, Dan Downey, Dick and Martha Storey, the J Bar L Ranch, and State Farm Insurance. Mr. Kriegel is also continuing to provide support for the Academic Center for Equine Studies.

Quality Supply of Dillon recently contributed $25,000 toward biology studies at Montana Western. You should see the smile on Mike Morrow’s face!

Max and Barbara Nield made a gift of $10,000 to support LACE.

Professor Emeritius Jane Maddock provided continuing support towards the Helm and Honors Endowments.  (Dr. Jane Maddock is the founder of our Honor’s program.)

Vigilante Electric continues to provide an annual gift toward a growing endowment fund.  Thank you Dave Alberi for all your support!

Harrington Pepsi of Butte provided major support for the construction of a concession stand/public restrooms/ team locker rooms at Vigilante Field. The facility will be shared with Beaverhead County High School. A “team effort,” our thanks to KB Construction, the Dillon JC’s, Faure Halverson Architects, L&S Ready Mix, Vigilante Electric, RE Miller & Sons, West Electric, Beaverhead Home Center, Allied Fence and the City of Dillon.

Professor Jane Maddock has provided the majority of support for a new sound system in the Beier Auditorium.

The annual Athletic Dinner/Auction netted $8,500 and the annual Golf Tournament realized over $9,000.

As 2007 comes to a close, if you know of potential donors who might be interested in investing in the education of deserving students or exciting programs, please do not hesitate to contact Chancellor Storey or me. And, as always, support of the Foundation is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for all your efforts, generosity and support of this exciting and growing university.

Happy Holidays and best wishes for a successful New Year.
