Community Invited to Several Events in April

Dillon Concert Association Presents: Lysander Piano Trio

The Lysander Piano Trio, consisting of a piano, violin and cello, takes its name from the character in Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Proactively its members commission new works and create programs that mix the music of today with well-loved masterworks. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Beier Auditorium on Wednesday, April 3, 2019.

Dillon Concert Association membership grants admission into all 2018-19 performances. Single event tickets will be sold at the door: adults $15; UMW Students $10; student/youth $6.

Dr. Jane Helm Maddock Service Award Dinner and Ceremony

The UMW Alumni will be honoring individuals and organizations who have demonstrated extraordinary service to our school and community. Honorees will be given the Dr. Jane Helm Maddock Service Award on April 16, 2019.

The community is invited to a no-host social beginning at 5:30 in the Lewis and Clark room, located in Mathews Hall on the UMW campus, with dinner and award ceremony to follow at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 for UMW students and $15 for everybody else.

Climb the M Fundraiser Run

On April 20, 2019 at 9 a.m. there will be a Climb the M fundraiser run which will benefit UMW cross-country and track and the Beaverhead Trails Coalition.

There are both 5K and 15K events covering a beautiful desert landscape along a 5K loop with several challenging hills. The run will start at the Dillon Town Overlook Trailhead, located just outside of town.

Bridges to Business Speaker Series

On April 23, 2019 the University of Montana Western Business Department is welcoming Kent Miller, Department Manager for Battelle Energy Alliance, as the featured presenter. His talk will be in the Swysgood Technology Center Great Room beginning at 7 p.m.

Miller will speak to his experiences managing the Environmental Support and Service Organization at the Idaho National Laboratory

13th Annual All Campus Research Symposium

On April 26, 2019 the Student Research Symposium will begin in the Swysgood Technology Center Great Room at 3:30 p.m. The event will continue on April 27.

This event will showcase Montana Western student research, internships, course projects and other academic endeavors.

The two-day symposium will feature poster sessions, oral presentations and a keynote speaker.

Earth Day Cleanup and Celebration

Terra Verde Club and the City of Dillon will partner for the annual Earth Day Cleanup and Celebration on April 27, 2019.

Participants will meet at the Depot Park at 9 a.m. to start the city cleanup project. The group will then meet back at the Depot Park from 12-3 p.m. for music, lunch, presentations and activities.
