The Campaign:
Inspired by the past.
Building for the future.

The Legacy Campaign for the University of Montana Western invites the campus and community to celebrate the university’s rich traditions in higher education and usher in the future.

Those who have been touched by the Montana Western campus can now be part of the legacy of one of Montana’s highly esteemed universities as we work to complete the renovation of Main Hall and build a new outdoor space, Legacy Plaza.

Main Hall:
restoring a legacy.

For over 120 years, the Main Hall complex on the campus of Montana Western has served as one of southwestern Montana’s most iconic landmarks. Main Hall’s legacy continues to bring together both campus and community. The three-phase renovation restores Main Hall’s historic features and incorporates innovative technologies.

Legacy Plaza:
at the crossroads.

The construction of Legacy Plaza creates an impressive outdoor space at the foot of Main Hall. The space creates a crossroads for campus and community, and gives Montana Western a space to appreciate and enjoy our beautiful campus. The plaza will serve as a venue for many university and community activities.
