The Tuss-Stearns Scholarship was established to support Montana students pursuing a degree in Education at Montana Western. Preference will be given to Wheatland County candidates because the scholarship was named for the dedication of two educators from Wheatland County. If there are no qualified candidates from Wheatland County, candidates from other rural Montana counties or Native American lands in Montana may be considered.

In the case of multiple qualified candidates, financial need is most important. The scholarship is intended to assistance where it is most needed.  Veterans shall receive special consideration.
